I put in a new ballast and all the wiring is correct but the ballast seems to get very hot. Why is this?
The ballast is a magnetic 120 volt used for two 40 watt fluorescent bulbs in a ceiling fixture. Therefore, both the ballast and tubes are compatable to one another. They also run on a two way wall switch. The tubes are only dim with a wave going thru them but after a while the ballast gets very hot to touch. I have disconnected the hot(black) wire and put a wire nut on it until I can figure out what’s wrong. Hope I have given enough info so someone can help, Thanks….
